The main innovation with the Quantum mask is that, in addition to offering improved downward vision, it prevents fogging by internally thermoregulating the warm, moist air that exits the nose. This air is channeled by a system of membranes embedded in the molding around the eyes and nose, diverting the flow towards the rubber skirt rather than the lenses. The outer part of the skirt features a cooling system consisting of two small heat exchangers that act as radiators. The effect is that the temperature inside the mask drops, approaching the outside temperature and moisture droplets are trapped before the air reaches the lenses, preventing them from fogging. Despite the presence of the small internal membranes that divert the air flow and the external heat exchangers, the body of the Quantum mask is still compact and represents the most advanced design offered on the underwater vision market. The lenses are not chemically treated and it should be noted that when the mask is new, as is the case with all masks, we recommend that you thoroughly clean the lenses with toothpaste or dish soap, or simply use a lighter to burn off any volatile materials and dust that may have collected on the glass. It is also always helpful to use saliva as a surfactant before each dive.
